The West Point Provost Marshal's Office
NEWS:
Force Protection Gate Requirements for DoD Decals and ID Card
Possessing a DoD Form 2220 "Department of Defense
Registered Vehicle" Decal alone does not authorize the use of
Washington Gate, or the DoD ‘express’ lanes
of Stony Lonesome and Thayer Gates. In order to utilize these lanes,
personnel will need to display the decals AND show proper identification for the driver and occupants
of the vehicle over the age of 16 years.
Proper Identification Criteria: Personnel coming through the DoD lanes will display either the DD Form 2 style
ID cards for military personnel and their sponsored family members, or
in any other case, a CAC card. For further guidance, please
refer to our PMO Registration
Center - Customer Reference Sheet (click on the link)
(Netscape Users: Please shift+click on the link to save it to your local
drive for viewing in MS Word)
What to bring to the Registration Window to get DoD Decals:
You
will need at least the following items –
- Valid US State or
Territorial issued Driver License (NO Learner’s Permits or
International Permits!!)
- Valid State Registration
for your Privately Owned Vehicle (original copy)
- Proof of Valid Insurance
(No Temporary Cards)
You will also need an
Identification Card Such As –
Military members (including retirees and military family
members), that is your CAC card or your DD Form 2.
DA/DoD Civilians who are regularly
employed at USMA will present their CAC card or USMA Civilian ID Card.
Contractors/contractor employees will present a yellow/white
USMA Contractor ID badge or a CAC card with a colored vertical stripe
along the right side of the card. The Adjutant General’s Office (AG),
Bldg. 622, issues all contractor forms of ID at the request of each
Major Activity Director or Activity Director’s designated
representative. Prior to AG issuing any forms of ID, designated representatives
must have a valid signature card (DD Form 577) on file with AG.
Additionally, the designated representative must initiate a background
check on each contractor employee by completing the Contractor Personnel Background Check Form located
here (click the link) and submitting it to the 1/1 IN
Security Office; Attn: Colette Drouin.
