SPECIAL EVENTS/VISITOR PARKING

Plans Officer

Mr. Gerald Knapp

The Military Police are not responsible for the parking at an event. Military Police provide traffic control to the event. Parking is the responsibility of the Event Project Manager.

EISENHOWER HALL SHOW PARKING

NOTICE: These events are subject to change depending on construction and other scheduled events.

The Eisenhower Hall lower parking lot and portions of the Eisenhower Hall Tunnel are reserved for handicap parking. The remaining Eisenhower Hall parking lots are parked on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be aware that on the nights when a buffet is served pre-show, these areas will be the first areas parked. Once these lots are parked, theater goers are directed by a Military Police detail to the next available parking area. Personnel who attend the Eisenhower Hall shows cannot be guaranteed that they will be able to park in the same area for every show. The parking strategy is based on the number of personnel attending each show and the occurrence of additional events at West Point requiring specific parking.

A drop-off/pick-up area is available in the Eisenhower Hall tunnel. The driver is allowed to stop at the Box Office door, drop off the passengers, and then proceed to the next available parking area. The same service is offered after the show for pick-up at the Box Office door. Eisenhower Hall also provides a Theater Shuttle that makes continuous trips to Tower, Townsley, and Upton Roads to pick up persons directed to park in the area by the Hudson River. Groups arriving by bus are allowed to drop off passengers in the tunnel. The busses will then be directed to a staging area until completion of the show.

GRADUATION

Parking for the parents of graduating cadets is designated in Lots D, E, F, and H located on Stony Lonesome Road behind Michie Stadium. Only family members and guest are authorized access through Stony Lonesome Gate. General public parking for persons entering Thayer Gate begins in the Buffalo Soldiers Field parking lot. Overflow will be sent to Thayer and Williams Roads. General public parking for persons entering Washington Gate will be in the vicinity of North Athletic Field on Tower, Townsley, and Upton Roads. Overflow will be directed to available parking lots such as Eisenhower Hall lots, parking lots adjacent buildings 681 & 685, the Post Exchange, and the Elementary School. A free shuttle bus service will transport personnel to and from the Graduation Exercise. The shuttle buses do not service South Dock.

Handicap parking is reserved in H-Lot located on Stony Lonesome Road. Personnel possessing any state handicap license plate or placard are authorized parking in the handicap parking area. Personnel wishing to obtain a temporary handicap parking pass for a serious condition which would prohibit the use of the regular parking or shuttle, must have their cadet request the pass through their Tactical Officer.

Recreational vehicle parking for cadet families is authorized for graduation week at North Dock. During Graduation week, the graduation shuttle will service the North Dock area. A pass is not required to park in this area during Graduation week. The recreational vehicles must park in the back of the lot on the black hard top surface. Recreational vehicle parking at North Dock is on a first come first serve basis only. This is not an authorized tent camping area.
