The West Point Military Police Traffic Section is responsible
for traffic accident investigations, parking enforcement, speed
enforcement, and traffic control.
Traffic Accident Investigators are trained in traffic
management, accident investigation and are on duty 24 hours a day.
Portable Speed Bump Devices
Speed enforcement devices are placed in the housing areas for the
safety of children and residents. If you believe speed bump devices are
needed in your housing area please call your area mayor.
Radar/Speed Enforcement
Speeds on post are heavily monitored and enforced by the Traffic
Section.
SPEEDING IS NOT TOLERATED AND IS
STRICTLY ENFORCED.
Parking Enforcement
Many parking areas on West Point are
subject to restrictions during certain hours, particularly the highly
competitive lots near the Cadet Central Post Area. These areas are
monitored for vehicles displaying the appropriate passes (see the Parking Pass Information Page for more
details on which passes are used in those areas) while some lots are
reserved for the sole use of residents living adjacent to those lots.
Please read the signs posted in the parking areas carefully before
parking your vehicle to avoid fines or possible towing. Please also
review the Citation Schedule for
information concerning what to expect should you be cited for illegal
parking.
Traffic Control Signs and Devices
The Traffic Section reviews work orders submitted through DHPW
pertaining to traffic control signs and traffic control devices. The
Traffic Section will also reserve areas for the special events that
occur on West Point.
Recreational Vehicle (RV) Lot
The West Point RV lot is accessible to and used only by those military
members who reside on post. To register your RV and reserve a space,
call the PMO Vehicle
Registration and Administration Section at (845) 938-2208 / 7535 during
normal duty hours (Click Here for office hours), or call the MP Desk at (845) 938-3333 / 3312 if access
is required after normal duty hours.
