West Point Weapons and Firearms
Policy
In
order to protect the personnel and property assigned to USMA and West
Point, the installation has a strict policy regarding the possession and
storage of personal firearms and other dangerous weaponry.
Firearms are defined as shotguns, rifles, handguns, or any weapon
that uses an explosive or pneumatic charge to launch a projectile.
Personnel possessing, transporting or using firearms at approved
facilities or activities are required to register their weapons at the PMO.

Other Weapons: Any type
of bladed weapon exceeding three inches in length, or blunt instrument
intended for use as a weapon, or any martial arts weapons are not permitted
to be carried on the West Point Military Reservation except for those
bladed utility instruments while being used for the intended purpose of
assisting in the dressing out or preparation of game or fish acquired
during properly licensed hunting and fishing activities in the
designated seasons and approved areas in accordance with USMA
Regulation 190-3 and applicable state and federal laws and ordinances..
