Captain Kyle Wilhelm is a 1st year instructor in the Core Physics Program with the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering. Most recently, he earned a Master of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA in 2017.
Upon being commissioned from West Point, he completed the Aviation Officer Basic Course, Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW), at Fort Rucker, AL. He was then assigned to the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade in Fort Drum, NY. From 2010-2011 he deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan in support of OEF XI.
CPT Wilhelm attended the Engineer Captain's Career Course in 2012 where he later completed a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. In 2013 he deployed to Katterbach, Germany where he served as the Company Commander for the Air Traffic Control Company, F/5-158 Aviation Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.
CPT Wilhelm's awards include the Parachutists Badge, Air Assault Badge, Army Aviation Badge, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Afghan Campaign Medal (2 service star), NATO International Security Assistance Force Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, and the National Defense and Service Ribbon.
