Freshman Katie Macfarlane scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for her sixth career double-double and senior Therese Kelley added 17 points and nine rebounds to spark Armys 77-61 Patriot League womens basketball victory over Lehigh Saturday at Christl Arena here.
The Black Knights, recording their third straight win and second in league play to improve to 16-7 overall and 3-5, shot 60.7 percent (17-28) in the second half outpointing Lehigh 43-29.
The Mountain Hawks (11-12 and 4-5), ranked third in the league, were held to just 31 percent shooting in the second half (9-29) and 34.9 percent (22-63) for the game.
Army, holding a slim 34-32 lead at the halftime break, upped its advantage to 43-33 two minutes into the second half behind Kelley who scored five points (a three-pointer and layup) along with assisting on another.
At the midway point, the Black Knights led 55-44 following a fast-break layup by senior Megan Dempsey. After Lehigh drew to seven points (56-49) at the eight-minute mark,

Army pulled out to an 18-point lead (69-51) with 3:44 remaining to put the game out of reach following a decisive 13-2 tear. Macfarlane and senior Dawn Halfaker scored four points apiece to key that spurt. Armys largest lead of 19 points (77-58) came with 1:09 left.
Rounding out Armys four players in double figures were Halfaker with 12 and Dempsey with 11. Anne Tierney scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Lehigh.
Army returns to action Saturday at Navy.
