Employees can now make on-line TSP elections

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD (CPOCMA News Release) -- The Army Benefit Center’s Web-based Thrift Savings Plan module in the Employee Benefits Information System is now available for civilian employees wishing to start, stop or change their amount of contributions.

Employees can make an online TSP election by accessing the ABC-C Web site at www.abc.army.mil, ABC officials said Monday.

"It is important that employees’ remember that if they are using EBIS for the first time, they will have to create a point of entry, or POE," they explained.

Employees will need their most recent leave-and-earnings statement before they can create the POE, officials added.

"The POE will establish the POE login, which consists of the user identification number and a password," they explained. "Employees will also need their Social Security number and six-digit personal-identification number to access personal data and conduct personal transactions."

Employees will have three different means to participate in the TSP open season, said Belinda Leighty of the Civilian Personnel Operations Center Management Agency.

"Employees can use the automated system EBIS, the Interactive Voice Response System or complete a hardcopy TSP-1 election form and submit it to their CPAC," she said.

Employees should also be careful not to duplicate elections, Leighty cautioned.

"If they have already made an election through one of the automated systems, they should not fill out a hardcopy form; if they completed a hardcopy they should not make an automated election," she said.
