Officials from the U.S. Military Academy’s Directorate of Housing and Public Works announced Monday the Army Corps of Engineers expects to complete the New Brick renovation by May 2003.
"It is possible that the date could change as the project progresses," DHPW officials said. "However the Engineers anticipate a mid-May completion."
In preparation for a smooth transition, the housing division will be sending questionnaires to the residents of quarters included in Phase II. Those residents will be required to relocate.
"Residents can expect to receive the questionnaire within the next 60 days," officials said.
The questionnaire will query the resident about plans to PCS and whether there has been a change in family status.
"Your responses will assist the housing division in developing a transition plan," officials explained. "Residents should fill out the questionnaire accurately and return it in accordance with the deadline."
Once the transition plan is finalized and the projected date nears, DHPW will hold a resident meeting (most likely in early 2003) to provide the latest information and answer questions.
"The housing division will continue to keep residents posted about the project status and expected completion date," officials added. "We will use area coordinators, mayors and public media to relay important updates."
Residents should address issues and concerns through area coordinators or community mayors. The housing point of contact is Ms. Balzarini, 938-5189.
