Cadets participate in annual SCUSA conference
The 55th annual Student Conference on United States Affairs began here Wednesday and ends Saturday.
The event gives cadets the opportunity to discuss and formulate foreign policy with other college students from around the world.

History lesson: cadets train to be Civil War soldiers
Civil War reenactors from the 124th New York State Volunteers in Orange County with reenactment units from Maine and New Jersey came out Nov. 13 and 14 to teach more than 400 cadets how to march and shoot. It was all part of West Point’s History of the Military Arts class.

$6 million pledged for new Rugby complex
The Association of Graduates announced Tuesday a $6 million pledge from Lee and Penny Anderson to support the construction of a new Army Rugby Sports Complex at West Point.

Preston named Sergeant Major of the Army
Acting Secretary of the Army Les Brownlee and Chief of Staff of the Army General Peter J. Schoomaker announced Nov. 18 the Army has selected Command Sergeant Major Kenneth O. Preston as the 13th Sergeant Major of the Army.

Women's hoops' Macfarlane about to set all-time records
"Walk softly, but carry a big stick." The author of that adage probably didn’t mean for it to apply to a six-foot, blond female who has a smile that can light up Christl Arena. However, it does in Katie Macfarlane’s case.
