Petraeus led 101st into combat and rebuilding phase in Iraq Eight commanding generals have taken the remarkable mission of leading the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) into combat during the storied history of the division. Last March, Cornwall-on-Hudson native and 1974 U.S. Military Academy graduate, Maj. Gen. David H. Petraeus, led the ‘Screaming Eagles’ into another rendezvous with destiny.   

Satirical show marks the final 100 days for Firsties
With winter winding down and spring around the corner, thoughts of graduation are floating through the minds of many West Point seniors. Those thoughts were obvious Feb. 27 and 28 during the annual 100th Night Show at Eisenhower Hall.

Lieutenant shares war experiences with students
As her unit moved toward Baghdad, freed Iraqis “were tearing down things in celebration of the fall of the regime,” 1st Lt. Emily Woolsey, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, recalled during a Feb. 26 visit with seventh- and eighth-graders.  

Unions ask president to authorize rest of raise
Unions representing federal employees asked President Bush Feb. 19 to issue the remainder of the 2004 pay raise.   

Macfarlane named 'Player of the Year'
The Patriot League announced Wednesday that Army senior forward Katie Macfarlane has been chosen as the 2003-04 “Player of the Year” by the league’s head coaches.
