DOD recommends moving Prep School
Department of Defense officials announced May 13 that a recommendation to move the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School from Fort Monmouth, N.J., to West Point was included in the recently released Base Realignment and Closure 2005 list.  

AOG names seven distinguished graduates
The Association of Graduates of the U.S. Military Academy will honor seven of its members as “distinguished grads” Tuesday during the alumni exercise and review ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m. on the Plain.  

Goodpaster dead at 90
General Andrew J. Goodpaster, a 1939 West Point graduate who led Army troops in World War II and Vietnam, oversaw military operations in Europe in the 1970s and was called out of retirement to run the U.S. Military Academy, died Monday at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was 90.  

Scout waits for deployed dad to share Eagle honors
West Point Boy Scout Troop 23 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor May 11 recognizing one of its own with its highest rank.  

West Point holds annual Mickey Marcus ceremony
Nearly two hundred people attended a memorial service Sunday at the Jewish Chapel and a graveside ceremony at the West Point cemetery to pay homage to Col. David “Mickey” Marcus, American Veterans of Israel who passed away in the last year and other Jewish-Americans who fought bravely for freedom.  

Baseball dominates PL championships; NCAA bound 
Senior first baseman Walker Gorham put library corner passers-by on alert Sunday as he rocked three home runs to lead Army (37-11) to its second consecutive Patriot League Tournament Championship and berth in the NCAA Baseball Regionals.
