- Our purpose at West Point Schools is educating children. We recognize that our students are a unique group, distinguished by the experience of living at the nation’s oldest military post and the home of the United States Army. Many of our students have traveled and lived throughout America and the world, and as such, possess many special skills, abilities, and perspectives.
- By acknowledging this special student body and in keeping with our mission, the West Point Schools seek to educate and develop all of our students in a positive, encouraging, and enthusiastic environment.
- This educational process is a team effort, one which includes the participation of all of our students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators and the West Point community. Furthermore, this team effort is directed towards a comprehensive education, an education that goes beyond what is presented only in the curriculum and extends to all of life’s experiences.
- Our students are all-important individuals with differing levels of achievements. They are taught with recognition of and respect for those distinctions. Our students learn at varying rates and in various ways. All of them are worthy of the best education possible. They too are committed to learning and are willing participants in the education process.
- Our teachers and staff are caring, nurturing, and positive mentors who concern themselves with developing the whole student. They develop traditional educational skills and knowledge in our students along with emerging skills and capabilities that focus on our future world.
- Our administrators constantly communicate openly and positively with students, parents, teachers and staff and the West Point community. They fashion a vision of where our school is headed and a strategy for how it will get there. They are affirmative, proactive and caring administrators who provide positive procedures and guidance for our school’s successful operations.
- Our parents and school board are committed to supporting our students as well as the teachers and staff in the educational process. They actively involve themselves in all facets of their children’s education. Our parents focus their children’s energy into productive learning experiences.
