Construction and repaving project
A DHPW contractor will begin construction work Monday including the repaving of
Tower Road, Upton Road (around the Field House, and the roadway between Bldg.
663 and Bldg. 665.
The scope of the project includes new curbs and sidewalks, street light base, storm catch basins and replacement of the asphalt.
During the construction, parking will not be allowed in the area. Personnel may access Shea Stadium and the Target Hill area by using Townsley Road. The roadway will remain open during the construction, but drivers should use caution as the roadway will be rough and show the signs of construction activity.
The work is weather dependent and project completion is scheduled for mid-November. For questions, contact DHPW Customer Service, 938-4407.
Road closure
A project to replace steam and condensation lines in the vicinity of Bldg. 667
will begin next week and include the excavation of Ruger Road.
During excavation there will be single lane closures with a flag person in the area. There will be occasions when Ruger Road will have to be closed for periods of time not exceeding one hour. During closures, flag persons will detour the traffic.
The work is weather dependent and expected to continue for approximately four weeks. Periodically, during the construction period, it may become necessary to block off several parking spaces in the Eisenhower Hall parking lot. If this is done, it will be affect a minimal number of spaces and be for a minimal period of time.
Personnel should expect traffic delays in the area. For more information, contact DHPW Customer Relations, 938-4407.
