Supe extends gratitude for Bicentennial support
To the West Point Community:
I want to take this opportunity to say "job well done" to all those who made it happen.
At all the dinners and receptions thanks are always given to those whose names are very recognizable. The intent of this note, however, is to recognize those who do the work and seldom get recognized. It is for those who work behind the scenes. It is for the privates and specialists working the night shift on our gates to keep us secure. It is for the cook who labored in the heat of the kitchen until the meal was just right. It is for the TAC NCO who worked the ceremonies that meant so much. It is for the custodian who polished the brass handrail just one more time. It is for the accountants who double-checked their figures. It is for the volunteers who gladly gave of their precious time. They are the people, the soldiers, civilians, family members, retirees, contractors and friends, who on a daily basis work selflessly, diligently, and many times make incredible sacrifices in their personal lives so that events like the Bicentennial run seamlessly. While I can’t go out and shake everyone’s hand and personally say "thanks," I want you to know that you are appreciated. Again, my many thanks and sincerest appreciation for a job truly well done.
