Cadet 1st Class Ricardo A. Turner has been selected as the United States Military Academy’s 144th brigade commander and first captain for the Corps of Cadets it was announced Wednesday.
Turner, from Detroit, Mich., was accepted into the academy in 1999 after graduating from the United States Military Academy’s Preparatory School the previous year.
The 22-year-old Turner majors in Economics and served as the cadet Command Sgt. Maj. for 1st Regiment last academic year.
Turner has competed in Sandhurst for the past two years and was active in the Spanish Language, Contemporary Affairs Seminar and Officer’s Christian Fellowship clubs last year.
