Winter use of golf course

With the snow comes the temptation to use the West Point golf course as a winter playground. While there are several tempting hills to challenge sleigh riders, there is only one place authorized for this use. The lower portion of the 4th fairway located adjacent to the Victor Constant Ski Slope is the only place authorized for any winter activities.

The staff also asks that this are only be used when there is significant snow cover to limit damage to the turf grass. During heavier snowfall, a trail will be groomed for cross country skiers. If the trail becomes unclear, cross country skiers are urged to avoid putting greens and tee areas at all cost.

Any other use of the golf course during the winter months is strictly prohibited, both for your safety and to prevent damage to the course.

Questions should be directed to Lew Beck at 938-2435 or via e-mail at yl5997@exmail.usma.army.mil.
