Lieutenant Colonel Heidi Urben is a military intelligence officer with more than 15 years of service in the U.S. Army. She has served in a variety of operational assignments including tours in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1999-2000) and Afghanistan (2004-2005 and 2010-2011). Her past assignments include various staff positions in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) and 25th Infantry Division (Light), command of an intelligence company in Hawaii, a tour as Military Aide to Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates (2006-2007), and service as the operations officer and executive officer for an intelligence battalion at Fort Meade, Maryland (2008-2010). Lieutenant Colonel Urben currently serves as an Assistant Professor of American Politics, Policy, and Strategy and Department Executive Officer for the Social Sciences Department at the U.S. Military Academy.  In 2013, she is scheduled to take command of a military intelligence battalion in Hawaii.
