Major Catherine J. Miller is currently serving as an Economics Instructor and Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis (OEMA) research officer in the Social Sciences Department at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point.  She is a 2001 graduate of Bucknell University and earned her commission as a Military Intelligence officer through the ROTC program.  She received a career field designation as a Functional Area 34 officer (Strategic Intelligence) and will begin a graduate program for that field in 2013.  Major Miller has served in a variety of tactical assignments including a tour to Baghdad, Iraq with the 1st Cavalry Division and two years near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in the Republic of Korea (ROK) with the 2nd Infantry Division.  From 2001-2005 she served with the 1st Cavalry Division in the following positions: Battalion S2, Ground Surveillance Radar Platoon Leader, Aide-de-Camp (ADCS, 1CD), and Battalion S1.  From 2006-2008, she served in the 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team,2nd Infantry Division in Korea as the Brigade S2 and then as the Brigade’s Military Intelligence Company Commander.  Major Miller and her husband, Major Justin L. Miller, have one son, Andrew and are expecting a second child in September 2012.
