Major Aaron Wilcox serves as an Instructor of International Relations in the Department of Social Sciences. After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2006, Aaron commissioned as an Armor Officer. Aaron joined Second Brigade of the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, as a Scout Platoon leader before deploying to Iraq as an Executive Officer from 2008-2009. After returning from Iraq, MAJ Wilcox attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Ft. Knox, followed by attending Ranger school in 2010. After Ranger school, Aaron received command of a Mechanized Infantry Company in the First Armored Division at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Aaron deployed to Iraq in 2010 as a Company Commander and assisted with the final closeout of the Iraq War prior to the U.S. troop movement out of theater. After returning from Iraq, Aaron served as the Fourth Brigade, First Armored Division HHC Brigade Company commander before being assigned as the S3 for 3-362 Armor in Fifth Brigade at Ft. Bliss, Texas.
Aaron’s military awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, one Meritorious Service Medal, one Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, and one Meritorious Unit Citation. Aaron also received the Colonel Tex Turner Leadership award at Ranger School. He is a graduate of the Army Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader’s Course (RSLC), Air Assault school, Pathfinder school and the Calvary Leaders Course.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Harpur School of Political Science at Binghamton University.
