MAJ Joshua Glonek was commissioned as an Infantry officer in 2003 upon graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point.  MAJ Glonek's first operational assignment was with the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a rifle platoon leader, specialty platoon leader, and company executive officer.  While assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, MAJ Glonek deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  After completion of the Maneuver Captain's Career Course, MAJ Glonek was then assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) where he served as a rifle company commander and a headquarters company commander.  While assigned to 5-2 SBCT, MAJ Glonek deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  MAJ Glonek currently serves as an Instructor of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy.
