Lieutenant Colonel Tania Chacho is an Associate
Professor and directs the Comparative Politics Program in the Department of Social
Sciences at the United State Military Academy, West Point. Responsible for an academic major and its
electives, she teaches courses in Comparative Politics, International Security,
and the Government and Politics of China.
She also serves as the Director of Personnel for the Department of
LTC Chacho received her B.A. in
International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, and she also holds a
masters in American Foreign Policy and International Economics from Johns
Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Her doctorate in International Relations
(Strategic Studies) is also from SAIS.
She also earned a masters degree in National Security and Strategic
Studies from the Naval War College.
LTC Chacho has published chapters in Fundamentals
of Counterterrorism Law, The U.S. Army and the Interagency Process:
Historical Perspectives, and Unraveling the European Security and Defense
Policy Conundrum. She has also authored articles on China, Human
Terrain Teams, and soldier motivation that have appeared in the Journal of
Contemporary China and Defence Studies, as well as reports for
Congress and TRADOC.
