MAJ Hertling is a 2002 graduate of Wake Forest University and completed his MPA with concentrations in public policy analysis and international relations at Indiana University in 2008. Todd has served in a variety of military assignments, deploying to Anbar Province, Iraq from 2003 to 2004, Tal Afar, Iraq from 2005 to 2006, and Kirkuk, Iraq from 2009 to 2010. Most recently MAJ Hertling was the operations officer of 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, a Stryker Reconnaissance Squadron at Fort Bliss, Texas. He is currently an instructor for SS202, American Politics, and is also the course director for SS478, Seminar in International Security Studies.
