Lieutenant Colonel Spencer J. Clouatre is an Academy Professor and the Director of the Economics Program at the United States Military Academy.  LTC Clouatre graduated West Point in 1995 and was commissioned in the Aviation branch.  Spencer has largely worked with light infantry and special operation units as an assault pilot in Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters.  As an aviator, he has deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, and Afghanistan with task forces from the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR).  He earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University (2004), a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (2011), and a PhD in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina (2016).  His primary research interest is reduction of asymmetrical information in labor markets to improve person-environment fit and talent management.  Spencer teaches both introductory economics classes as well as courses in finance and investment theory.
