Dr. Coumbe is an Assistant Professor of History and a researcher/historian in the Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis. Dr. Coumbe earned a B.S. in National Security and Public Affairs from the U.S. Military Academy in 1973 and Ph.D. in History from Duke University in 1985. Previously, Dr. Coumbe was the Historian for the U.S. Army Cadet Command, the organization responsible for the management of the Army’s ROTC program.  He has also taught history at a number of colleges and universities on an adjunct basis.  A military historian by training, Dr. Coumbe’s primary research interests are officer education and management, officer accessions, and the religious history of the U.S. Military Academy.
