John Hagen is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He received his commission through the Air Force ROTC program at Boston University where he majored in aerospace engineering. John’s career specialty is ICBM launch operations. He has served as a combat crewmember and evaluator in the 321st Strategic Missile Wing at Grand Forks AFB, and as an instructor in the 4315th Combat Crew Training Squadron at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Prior to his posting at West Point, John served as a military advisor to the Special Representative to the Secretary General for the UN Mission for Iraq. He received his PhD in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
