Army Men Finish 4 and 1 at Haverford College

11 November 2007 - The Army Men's Fencing team traveled to Haverford College in Pennsylvania this Sunday to compete in their first MACFA conference tournament of the season. They faced off against five highly competitive teams from surrounding colleges. Despite an initial loss to the University of North Carolina, Army bounced back, beating teams from Virginia Tech (19-8), University of Virginia (21-6), St. Johns (24-3), and University of Maryland (14-3). Although the victories were a collective effort, the Army Epeé distinguished themselves as the most successful of the three Army teams at the tournament by winning 35 of 45 bouts and mitigating the losses suffered by the Sabre and Foil teams who struggled to gain momentum. The team is now turning its attention towards academics as the fall semester winds down before Christmas leave. Army's next tournament will be hosted at the United States Military Academy on January 20th.
