General
Drummers will always wear drummers plaid in place of full plaid. If enough Dress Sporrans are not available, drummers will wear day sporrans. The acting Drum Major and Pipe Major will wear red sash in all uniforms when performing duties as Drum or Pipe Major. The Drum Major will wear the baldric in Tunic and IW/Kilt when performing duty as Drum Major. Qualified Drummers may wear a Kukri in all but the blazer uniform. Waist belt is worn with all uniforms except while dancing.
India Whites over Kilt
This is the formal warm weather uniform. It is the standard India White top worn with the front corners below the waist pinned back at a 45 degree angle. It is always worn with black waist belt, hose, spats and flashes. Basic uniform is with the dress sporran. All performers will wear cross belts and plaids. Pipers wear a skein-duhb. Drummers wear a day sporran.
Tunic/ Dress Gray over Kilt
This is the formal winter uniform. In place of tunic a dress gray top may be worn. Accessories are the same as the IW/kilt. The base uniform is with day sporran. Pipers and Drum Major wear Dress sporran.
White over Kilt
White over kilt is the dress white shirt and is usually worn in the summer and fall. It is worn to less formal performances and social functions or in extreme heat. It is worn with black leather waist belts and horse-hair sporran. Halfhose and spats will be worn over lowquarters. The glengarry is always worn with the uniform when performing or when outdoors.
Working Kit
This is the informal uniform. It is the seasonal AFC worn over Kilt. Pipe and Drum Majors wear sashes. All wear the day sporran, hose, flashes and skein-duhb. Headgear is always the glengarry. The issue black sweater is authorized.
Undress Kit
This uniform is for public relations work and casual wear. This is the cadet Blazer worn over the kilt. Worn with day sporran, hose and flashes. The dress sporran may be worn for more formal occasions. Skein-duhb or dress dirk are the only authorized weapons in Undress Kit.
Dancers
Female dancers wear the female dance top, over kilt, with hose, flashes and dance shoes. The Blazer Jacket is authorized. Male dancers wear the blazer top over kilt with waist belt, hose, flashes and dance shoes. The Jacket is not worn during performances when the band is wearing working kit. Low quarters are authorized when not performing.
Under Arms
Whenever carrying instruments, personnel are considered to be under arms. When under arms the Dress Uniforms consists of the addition of the plaid and black crossbelt. In whites and working kit Pipers do not change uniform, drummers use cloth slings and the Majors only use a crossbelt if carrying saber.
Insignia
Cadet in Charge: Gold 5 Point Star on lower sleeves. Assistant CIC wears a silver 5 point star.
Majors: Four gold chevrons. Worn on the lower right sleeve with the point up.
Sergeants: Three gold chevrons. Worn on the upper right sleeve with the point down.
Corporals: Two gold chevrons. Worn on the upper right sleeve with the point down.
Quartermaster: Corporal rank with a solid gold bar across the top of the chevron.
Privates: None.
Awards: Awards such as medals and badges will be worn on uniforms. The large 3 inch medals will be worn on IW and Tunic. Ribbons will be worn on white and working kit. They may also be worn on the tunic when not under arms. Awards will be worn in the same position they usually are but when under arms will be pinned over the plaid.
Baldric: worn by Drum Major. Worn over left shoulder, under epaulet, to right hip. Goes over cross belt on front.
Bonnet: worn by Drum Major in formal uniforms. Brass crest to left. Falling feather tassels on right. bottom is parallel with ground in the same manner as full dress hat.
Cross belt: Always worn when under arms and when specified. Worn over right shoulder, under epaulet, tight under waist belt on left side.
Dance shoes: worn with the laces wrapped up to just above the ankle.
Day sporran: worn by leather belt around waist. Top of sporran one handbreadth below waist.
Dress sporran: worn by belt around waist. Bottom should be even with bottom of kilt.
Drummers Plaid: worn by broach at top corner to left shoulder, under epaulet. Bottom tied around waist with tartan pattern matching kilt.
Full Plaid: worn over left shoulder and under right arm. Over all other items. Fall of plaid behind body should go down level with top of spats. Held with a broach at left shoulder. All medals, tabs and badges are worn pinned on plaid in there place above the uniform.
Glengarry: worn with shined hat brass on front left. Ribbons falling in back. Worn the same as garrison cap.
Hose: always worn with flashes. Top folded one palm width over flashes. Top one palm width below kneecap. Align so that black diamond shows on front center.
Kilt: proper fit is with the bottom of the kilt touching top of kneecap. Pleats go in rear.
Kilt pins: Kilt pins are worn in the lower right corner of the kilt. The following are authorized:
a) current class shield
b) one other pin of personal choice
c) branch pin is authorized for Firsties after branch selection.
Red Sash: worn by Majors. Over right shoulder under cross belt.
Saber: worn in cross belt by Drum and Pipe Major. Worn on side of hip.
Skein-duhb: worn in right hose above flash. Sheath should not show.
Spats: worn with the buttons on the outside of the leg.
Waist Belt: worn around waist with buckle shined and centered on gig line. Goes over sash; under rear and over front of cross belt; under front and over rear of baldric.
