Trips

 

General

Trips may be conducted for the completion of a performance mission, or as a social/cultural experience. All trips outside USMA will be governed by USCC SOP and USCC Reg 28-1. The Officer in Charge and Cadet in Charge will know their duties IAW USCC Reg 28-1, par. 4-04 and 4-05.

 

Scheduling

    1. Trips will usually be scheduled during non-duty time. Requests for exceptions-to-policy will be routed through DCA NLT 21 days prior to the event.

Transportation

Transportation is coordinated by DCA (Procurement Branch) upon request from the Officer-in-Charge of the activity. Requests for transportation must be coordinated NLT 14 days prior to trip departure.

 

Execution of Trips

    1. Prior to the trip, all cadets wishing to attend will inform the Cadet in Charge and receive approval form their Chain of Command on a Form 40 Routing and Transmittal Slip.
    2. Cadets will sign out in their company log book and report to CGR in the proper uniform NLT 10 minutes prior to formation. The uniform for trips will be the uniform for the event.
    3. The Cadet in Charge will conduct an inspection before departure. He will then ensure the trip roster in CGR is accurate and sign the trip out with the Cadet Guard. Upon return of the trip he will sign the trip in with the Cadet Guard.
    4. Vans will usually be used for transportation on day trips. Government gas cards are only to be used for fuel. The Cadet in Charge will ensure that every driver has directions to the event. All drivers will have a valid license to operate the vehicle.
