Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver

Course Description:

NAUI leaves much of this course up to the discretion of the instructor.  The advanced class builds on the diver's basic skills, enabling him to participate in a greater range of activities.  Upon completion of this course you will be able to dive to the recreational limits of 130 ft.  The class will teach you new skills ranging from underwater navigation to night diving. 

 

Open Water Dives:  A minimum of six open water dives is required. A maximum of three dives per day shall be applied toward course requirements. At least two dives are to be deeper than 20 feet (6 m).

 

Required Dives:

-Navigation  
-Night or low visibility diving 
-Deep diving (130 feet/40 meters maximum depth) 

 

What we focus on:

Our version of the NAUI advanced class focuses on wreck diving skills.  We do extensive training with reels and lift bags. We also concentrate on honing underwater navigation skills, which are so important for diving the wrecks of the North East  The classes are usually taught once a year in the spring semester at Dutch Springs.
