> > NEWS > > The Army volleyball team has entered the final stretch of the season as we gear up for nationals, which will kick off in Dallas next weekend. The team has been practicing three to four times a week since August, and we have our minds set on wearing Division II gold by the time we wrap up our season. We played a tournament with the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association in Rochester, NY, this past weekend to help get us ready for the challenges we’ll face next weekend. Army Volleyball made a strong showing, and we showed that we have made great improvements since the beginning of the season. The Brothers beat Syracuse and Cornell but fell to RIT in three and also lost to SUNY Cortland and Buffalo, both very strong teams. The team has hit the gym hard since this weekend to keep building on the lessons we learned in Rochester. The team wants to maximize its time to practice and play before it leaves for nationals next Wednesday, and we may have our chance with a last-minute offer we received to play in EIVA’s East Coast Championship at the University of Maryland this weekend. Although our budget may not be able to cover an extra tournament with transportation and lodging funds this season, we’re working on coordinating at least one more competition at home or away before we hop on the plane to Dallas next week. Check out new pictures from this season and old pictures from seasons before! PICTURES The Army Volleyball team would like to give a special thanks to Coaches Annie and Bernie Holliday, and Amy Lynn, MAJ Cutright, Caleb, Jeremy Sands, alumni, and all Army Volleyball supporters! Army Volleyball would not be possible without all your help and support! The team has left NECVL and will now be playing in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA). The Brothers will be playing in the Division 1 North section against Syracuse, Buffalo, and Cornell. If you are interested in playing Army Volleyball next fall or have any questions, please direct them to our new Captain, Bill Corson. Army Volleyball T-shirt are available.
