Lisa (Benitez) Strine graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with the Class of 1988.  As a cadet, she earned All-American Honors in both Cross-Country and Track & Field.  She earned her Parachutists Badge in 1988.  Upon graduation, she served as a Corps of Engineers Officer in the 43rd Engineer Battalion (combat/heavy) at Fort Benning, Georgia.  In this role she served as both a vertical and horizontal construction platoon leader supporting units including the U.S. Army Rangers, the 197th Infantry Brigade, The Infantry School, and the international “School of the Americas”. 

Additionally, Lisa had responsibilities in "Nation Building Operations" in Costa Rica and Honduras, as well as supporting local authorities on the southeastern coast of the U.S. in their handling of multiple hurricane disasters. 

Lisa continued her service as the Executive Officer of a combat construction company during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, where she was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.  After leaving active duty in 1992, she remained in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Captain until January 2000.  In May of 1997 she joined the Association of Graduates at West Point as a Class Giving Officer, working with 30 USMA classes on their reunion gifts.  She was promoted to Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations in January 2005. 

In October 2007, she was promoted to Director of Class and Annual Giving, responsible for soliciting all 46,000 living graduates of West Point.  During her tenure at the Association of Graduates, Lisa has remained a committed volunteer.  She is the Professional Military Ethics Education Representative for Cadet Company H3, and is an Officer Representative for both the Army Track and Field and Cross Country Teams. 

She is also a member of her church’s outreach committee.  Lisa remains a competitive runner competing in various races in the northeast.  She is married to Scott Strine, her West Point ‘88 classmate.  She is the mother of two teenage daughters, Stephanie and Kaitlyn.  They reside in Cornwall, New York.
