Sergeant First Class Michael Hollis

A Company Tactical Non-Commisioned Officer, USMAPS 

   Sergeant First Class Michael L. Hollis Jr. enlisted in the Army in March of 2002 out of Oakland, CA. He was then sent to Fort Benning, GA for Infantry basic training. After graduating from basic he was then assigned to the 3Sergeant First Class Michael L. Hollis Jr. enlisted in the Army in March of 2002 out of Oakland, CA. He was then sent to Fort Benning, GA for Infantry basic training. After graduating from basic he was then assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division (Mech) where he served as a Bradley fighting Vehicle driver for the initial push into Iraq, he then went on to become a machine gunner and team leader during this same deployment.Sergeant First Class Michael L.    His other assignments are to include 3His other assignments are to include 3rd ID, 1st Brigade Personal security detachment for the CSM and Commander. 4th Infantry Division where he served as a Rear Detachment Platoon Sergeant, Infantry Squad Leader, Small Kill Team Leader and Mechanized  Infantry Platoon Sergeant. Fort Benning, GA in 2-29 infantry instructing basic trainees on mounted react to contact drills and procedures. Fort Shafter, HI in the 8th Theater Sustainment Command as the S3 NCOIC.  Then 25th Infantry Division where he helped to rebuild and develop the Jungle Operations Training Center for the Department of Defense and other foreign allies throughout the pacific.

   Sergeant First Class Hollis has attended an abundance of Military schools and Programs to include: Basic Instructor Course, Rappel Master, Jungle Operations Training, Jungle Warfare training, Tracking School, Sling Load inspector, Counter IED train the Trainer, Marine Corps High suspension training, Marine Corps Helicopter Suspension Training,  Lean Six Sigma (yellow belt), Combatives level 1, Master Fitness Trainer, Small Unmanned Ground vehicle Operator, Heavy Weapons Leader, Battle Staff, Air Assault, Airborne, Maneuver Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course and Warrior Leaders Course.

   His awards and decorations are:  Bronze Star, Meritorious Service medal 1 Oak Leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal  7 Oak leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal  1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Presidential Unit citation award, Valorous Unit Citation award,  Army Good Conduct medal 4 awards, National Defense service medal, Iraq Campaign Medal 6 awards, Global war on terrorism Expeditionary medal, Global war on terrorism Service
