West Point, NY -- The
USMAPS lacrosse team got their Spring Season off to a great
start with a 10-9 overtime victory over the Army JV squad.
USMAPS jumped out to a 4-2 first quarter lead, only to see
the JV squad answer in the second to lead 6-5 at the half.
Army JV began the third quarter scoring just 30 seconds into
it. In goal for USMAPS, Ryan Zaremba held the JV squad
scoreless for the next 16 minutes and registered 10 saves in
the quarter as it ended 7-7. The two teams exchanged goals
in the fourth with regulation ending 9-9. Nick Isnardi won
the face-off to begin overtime and Anthony Zappone scored
the game winner 28 seconds into the sudden death period.
Alex Carros led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist, while
USMAPS got 2 goals apiece from Anthony Zappone and Pat Day.
Nick Isnardi (1g,1a),Drew Motschwiller (1g,1A), Evan Ryan
(2a), and Taylor Bethea (1g) completed the scoring.

lacrosse match has been moved to a turf facility on Saturday
27 February at the Manalapan Recreation Center. This game
is against national ranked #3 Essex County College from
Baltimore, MD. |
