Mr. Tim Hansen
Tim Hansen is entering his first year as the Head Athletic Trainer at USMAPS. His responsibilities include providing quality medical care to all varsity and club sport programs, as well as, the entire Cadet Candidate Battalion. In addition to his duties in the athletic training room, Mr. Hansen teaches a Nutrition lecture series as part of the Physical Education program.
Prior to his appointment at USMAPS, Mr. Hansen served as an assistant athletic trainer at Georgia Tech, working with the men’s basketball program from 2000-2007. Highlights of his tenure in Atlanta, GA include a trip to the 2004 Final Four in San Antonio, TX and the 2004 NCAA National Championship game. He has traveled internationally, serving as the athletic trainer for College All-Star teams that traveled to the United Kingdom in 2002 and to Austria and Slovenia in 2005.
Mr. Hansen earned his undergraduate degree from Kean University in 1997 and his master’s degree from Syracuse University in 2000. While at Syracuse, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working primarily with football, men’s basketball, and lacrosse. He has also worked in the clinical setting at Excel Orthopedic Rehabilitation in Fort Lee, NJ and in the professional setting interning with both the New York Football Giants and the New York/New Jersey MetroStars.
He is currently licensed by the State of New Jersey and certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is also certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
A native of Avenel, NJ, Tim is married to the former Kristina Clifford and have an infant daughter, Gabrielle.
