Mr. Brendan Copes

Brendan Copes enters his second season as the Head Coach of the USMAPS Women’s Basketball program.

Prior to his arrival at Army Prep, Copes spent three seasons as an administrative assistant coach for the Marist College Men’s Basketball team. 

During his coaching stint at Marist, he was primarily responsible for strength and conditioning, academics, scouting/film editing, and player development.  He also served as the Director of the Marist College Boys’ Basketball Camp.

Copes earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism-Sports Communication from Marist in 2003.  As a member of the Marist College Men’s Basketball team, he played for Coach Dave Magarity who now roams the sidelines as Head Women’s Coach at West Point. 

Copes served as team captain his senior year and was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team.

Copes earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Marist College in the Fall of 2007.

A native of Windsor Locks, CT Copes currently resides in Long Branch, NJ.

2LT Anna Wilson

This season, 2LT Anna Wilson will serve as the assistant women’s basketball coach.  Wilson graduated from the US Military Academy in May, 2008. 

While there, she played four seasons for the Black Knights, two under current Head Coach Dave Magarity.  During her senior year, she served as team captain and was named to the Patriot League Academic Team.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Geography.

A native of beautiful New Jersey, Wilson grew up in Somerset and attended Rutgers Preparatory School, where she played under Mary Klinger.  Wilson now resides in Long Branch, NJ.
