<div class="ms-rteFontSize-2 ms-rteThemeFontFace-2"><span>The 2013 McDonald Cadet Leadership Conference will be held October 17th - 20th, 2013 on the grounds of the United States Military Academ</span><span>y at West Point. The Academy is located approximately 50 miles north of New York City on the beautiful Hudson River. </span><br /> <br /><strong class="ms-rteFontSize-3">Ground travel information:</strong></div>
<div class="ms-rteFontSize-2 ms-rteThemeFontFace-2"><br class="ms-rteFontSize-3" />The conference will not pay for travel to and from the conference.<strong> </strong>Conference attendees arriving by automobile should come to Thayer Gate which is located adjacent to the neighboring town of Highland Falls just off Route 9W. Arriving at West Point you will pass the West Point Visitor Center and museum. Thayer Gate is guarded and personal identification is required. However, your conference liaison will arrange to meet you at the West Point Visitor Center (or another convenient location that you prefer) in order to ease your transition through the gate and to your lodgings at the Thayer Hotel. For your reference, travel to West Point from New York City by car takes approximately an hour and a half. Please, coordinate directly with Major Shannon Worthan for any special considerations or concerns you may have. Participants should plan to arrive by car in the late afternoon/early evening on October 17th, 2013 so that we can get them involved in our first activity at dinner time.</div>
<div class="ms-rteFontSize-2 ms-rteThemeFontFace-2"><br /> <br class="ms-rteFontSize-3" /><strong class="ms-rteFontSize-3">Flight information:</strong><br class="ms-rteFontSize-3" /><p>The conference will not pay for flights to or from the West Point area for the conference. This cost will be up to schools or individual participants. We will provide ground transportation to and from local airports once you arrive in the area. Please coordinate your arrival time and pick-up location with Major Shannon Worthan. Ideally, we would like that information as soon as it is available. Consequently, we will ensure we are fully prepared to meet your needs once you land. Once you arrive at any of the airports listed in the next paragraph a representative of the Conference will meet you with arranged transportation for the trip to West Point. As the conference nears, we will provide cell phone numbers for the liaison who will meet you at the airport (in the event un-forecasted changes transpire) . The following airport information is provided for your convenience. Please feel free to contact us with questions. Participants should plan for their flights to arrive at local airports in the early afternoon on October 17th, 2013 so that we can get them to West Point by dinner time.</p></div>

A double occupancy hotel room has been booked as part of the McDonald Cadet Leadership Conference block. Once you arrive at the hotel, provide the front desk with your information and let them know you are a Conference participant. They will provide you with your key. The Thayer Hotel provides high-speed wireless internet and concierge service, and a fitness center. Additionally, the hotel offers on-premises dining and a lounge. If you desire to reserve additional rooms or facilities for other members of your institution we will gladly assist you with the process. </div>

Lunches and dinners will take place at various locations on West Point including at least one meal alongside the Corps of Cadets in the historic Cadet Dining Hall (which can feed all 4,400 cadets simultaneously in only 20 minutes). </div></div>
