Ring Weekend

The Ring Ceremony recognizes first-class cadets and celebrates their accomplishment of reaching their senior year. This milestone in your cadet tenure signifies your prodigious commitment to join the Long Gray Line on Graduation Day. After a ceremony where the First Class cadets are told to “Don Rings!” Fourth Class cadets will regale them with the “Ring Poop,” a poem designed to cajole the ring-wearer to let the plebes see and touch their new rings.

On Friday, August 21, at 5 p.m., our First-Class cadets will march on to the Plain and take their positions in formation by company for the Ring Ceremony

On Saturday, August 22, at 8:30 a.m., cadets, family, and friends are invited to participate in the annual Ring Run 5K, followed by a celebratory brunch at 9:30 a.m. in the West Point Club. Advance registration for the run is now closed; however, participants may register at the event.

Starting at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, a Class Reception will be held in Eisenhower Hall.

After the reception, cadets and invited guests attend a formal Ring Banquet at 6:05 p.m. in the Cadet Mess Hall to celebrate this special milestone in their journey at West Point. Banquet guests need to be behind their seat no later than 5:55 p.m.
