MAJ Jack Fagerland is an instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy. 

He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and was commissioned as an Armor Officer. His first assignment was at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he served as a Plans Officer, Platoon Leader, and Troop Executive Officer in 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). 

Following completion of the Maneuver Captains Career Course, he was assigned to 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. During this assignment, he served as an Assistant Operations Officer and later commanded Apache Troop. While in command, he deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve and conducted operations across multiple locations in Europe. 

After his time in Troop Command, he served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division. 

Prior to returning to West Point as an instructor, MAJ Fagerland attended Purdue University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
