Mr. Goetz has been an Instructor in the Department of Physical Education since 2008. During this time, he has taught a variety of courses such as Military Movement, Snowboarding, and Fundamentals of Personal Fitness. Mr. Goetz has completed Level 1 of the U.S. Army Combative Certification Course and is also certified as an instructor with the Amateur Ski Instructors Association (ASIA). Mr. Goetz is also involved within the Company Athletics Program as a Sport Educator. Other duties include instruction of the Cadet Basic Training Program that takes place every summer that every incoming cadet must complete. Mr. Goetz also volunteers his time to help coach the Army Men’s Gymnastics Team.

Prior to West Point, Mr. Goetz has enjoyed a successful career as an NCAA gymnast at Springfield College in Massachusetts. He is a five time All-American and the 2004 USAG Vaulting National Champion. During his undergraduate time at Springfield College, Mr. Goetz earned a B.S. in Psychology in 2004. Mr. Goetz then returned to Springfield College to pursue his master’s degree. During that time, he was an assistant coach for the Women’s Gymnastics Team. He was awarded the assistant coach of the year award in 2006. He graduated in 2007 with a M. ED. in Athletic Counseling. After graduation, Mr. Goetz coached at a private gymnastics club in San Jose, CA.
