CPT Konstantinos “Kostas” Tsilianos is originally from North Carolina. He enlisted in the Army in 2000 as an 88M and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) II, as a Convoy Security Team Leader from 2004-2005. CPT Tsilianos graduated from The University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2007 and received his commission as a Transportation Officer through ROTC. After attending the Transportation Basic Officer Leader Course (TBOLC), he was selected for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). Completing twelve months of initial basic EOD training at Redstone Arsenal, AL and Eglin AFB, FL from February 2008 to January 2009. He has extensive expertise working in the Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) and EOD arena in support of combat operations.
CPT Tsilianos deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as an EOD Officer from 2009-2010, 2011-2012, and 2013-2014. Serving in operational units as an EOD Platoon Leader, EOD C-IED Team Leader, EOD Operations Officer (Company/Group level), Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) Paladin CJ39 ANSF EOD Partnership Officer In Charge, EOD Company Commander, and Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) EOD Commander. CPT Tsilianos most recently completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Education at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2017 and is currently assigned to the USMA Department of Physical Education as a Boxing and Army Fitness Development (PE 450) instructor. He is engaged to be married to Brooke Casady in the fall of 2017.
