Captain Zach Watson is an International Affairs Instructor in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He commissioned as Military Intelligence officer in 2008. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010 with a Master of Philosophy degree in Development Studies, which he earned as a Gates-Cambridge Scholar. He then served as Intelligence Fusion Officer-in-charge and later aide-de-camp with 1st Cavalry Division, deploying to Regional Command – East in Afghanistan in 2011-2012.  CPT Watson then served as a staff officer and company commander in the 500th Military Intelligence Brigade, supporting US Army Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2013-2016. In 2016, CPT Watson was selected for a Chief of Staff of the Army Strategic Studies Group Fellowship, in which capacity he served on the Army Staff from July 2016 – June 2017, conducting research and concept development for the Army for 2035-2050.
CPT Watson holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Arabic from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Philosophy degree in Development Studies from Cambridge University.
CPT Watson has been married to his wife Morgan Keay for one year.
