Major Delaney Brown serves as an Instructor of American Politics in the Department of Social Sciences.  After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2006, Delaney commissioned as a military intelligence officer.  Upon completion of the officer basic course, Delaney joined the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and deployed to Baghdad as a platoon leader from 2007-2009.  She returned to Iraq again in 2010 and 2011, serving as a non-lethal targeting expert first for the brigade and later for 4th ID.  She commanded a counterintelligence company that spanned the Korean peninsula from 2012-2014. 
Delaney’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.  She is a graduate of the Army’s Basic Officer Leaders Course and Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course. 
Delaney holds a Bachelor of Science in Comparative Politics from the United States Military Academy and a Master of International Development Policy from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
